Answers: To hold a professional web developer design and build a simple website for you (Craig's List is not an example of a simple website), expect to take-home pay about $2,500 minimum. We are conversation a bare brass tacks site, with e-mail. Hosting would be extra, more or less $25 a month, on average.
I think if you really want a ability website with lots of features, including a content command system, you could expect to pay pretty a bit more, from $5,000 to $25,000, depending on the features! A website for a large managing that requires usability testing, SEO, lots of features and programming can run into six digits.
The Yahoo small business net sites are another option. You can build a site in attendance, using a template, for between $10-$25 or so a month. It includes e-mail and a blog. For a lot of small business owners and e-commerce, it's a great alternative to hiring a professional designer. While it can't replace the power of have a professional build and design a site with your own brand, it's still pretty cool! Also, you don't inevitability any web design experience or HTML fluency to build a great site. I would look into that.
Depends on what you're doing. If it doesn't need to incorporate a database or anything it's pretty simple. To achieve eBay running? They probably spend at least a million every twelve months to keep it looking well brought-up and running well.
It really matter how complicated you want it, it could range anywhere from $75 to $500 for a moment ago a simple site.
There are a lot of inhabitants out there that can build your site, and that medium many different costs. It adjectives depends on who simple on complicated you want things. Big websites have someone on payroll monotoring their site day by day. But freelance webdesigners can go from $50 - $600.
You can other do one yourself with a free website builder online (ie. Freewebs.com, etc), but they will litter your page near ads. If you're trying to start a business, it looks really amature and unprofessional to hold ads and banner all over the page. And not a soul will take your page seriously. They are also VERY controlled in network site features. You gotta spend money to make money.
Here are some that I've built for other individuals:
www.jaggedlinebags.com
www.theparanorms.com
www.academypaints.com
And they were adjectives different in price.
But if you're not worried in the order of looking professional, then freewebs.com will suffice for free
Where can i advertise my new site for free. (im not aloud to say the name on here so i wont)?
Answers: Why aren't you allowed? Oh well.
There are directories which will list your site. Or you could set up a deal with a couple similar sites and become affiliates. A simple javascript code will create a box for you that'll display random things based on how the script was made, meaning you could put affiliates or ads there.
Another thing to look into is SEO. Get your site on top of G00GLE and you get hits.
Or on here. Honestly, my web design tutorial site will be done in a couple of months, and if I see anyone asking for help, I'll answer their question and refer them to my site.

Hi, $Big Buck$
Here's what I've learned on how to market my website:
1. Become an expert on the subject.
Most people are not doing this, so you'll have an edge up. Start marketing yourself in forums, chatrooms, and blogs as an expert on whatever your website's subject is. Find out why your product, service, or website is better than anyone else's. (Then tell other people that!)
2. Give away tons of free samples of your product.
With online websites, it's really easy to find 100000 websites that sell or do the same thing. Make people able to TRUST your website by giving away your product for free, and then by having people write back in and saying how well it's worked for them. Otherwise, they won't trust you, and they'll just leave.
3. Come up with, and market, your USP.
(Unique Selling Point) You need to show people why you're better than anyone else!Anyways, I hoped this helped. This stuff is just the TIP of the iceberg of marketing!
Good luck!
-Andy
P.S. (Just a thought) I just published a free book you can find at my website called "How to Start Your Own Online Vending Machine From Scratch In 10 Easy Steps" - it might help you out..
It has a lot of marketing tips and tricks...

What is a cheap and fast way to advertise attorneys services?
Answers: 1) I run a custom embroidery company and you need to create your cooperate identity. Create your logo and business name on your cooperate apparel.
2) Put the logo on your Auto
3) Make up business cards and hand them out. Every time you see someone you know hand several of them out. When you give people your business card, always give them more than one and ask them to give them to their friends/coworkers, etc. Print up flyers and post them on public boards if there are any near you and post in a forums that related to your location if there are any!
4) The key for this kind of business is word-of-mouth. Think of some clever ways to encourage your existing clients to tell people about you. Perhaps you could start with a friend or family member to be one of your "spokesperson". I owned a convenience store for 10 years and a lot of business deals started in the checkout line by strangers. Tell everyone about you and ask if they know anyone that could use your service. Ask for a referral from an existing client
5) Start a website as a way to advertise you. Let your website work for you and your clients swap links. When making your own web site do some research on how to optimize your site so that you get a good ranking with a natural search. You do this by embedding smart key words. Your website could show your community involvement and you could have questions and answers on the site.
6) Look for websites that you can advertise for free. Advertise in the Yahoo local. Find free on-line classified web sites for your community. Typically the local chamber of commerce will offer such a service. You can advertise here for free: http://www.hits2u.com/?149843

7) A Yellow page ad seems to work great also.
8) Try to get your local newspaper to do a free article on your business.
9) Sponsor local sport teams or ballparks that hang up banners. There are also inexpensive ways to advertise like a local penny saver newspaper, high school yearbooks and newspapers, etc.
10) Call radio show call in and contest and always answer or make the statement with "your name and company name and you have been working hard" free radio ads are great.
11) Telemarketing
12) Find out if you have the Welcome Wagon in your community. You can get something inserted in their welcome packages both for new home buyers and people who have just had a baby. There will be a cost involved in this, I believe.
Good luck!

Craigslist, PPC (adwords), get on the radio (easy to do), get in the paper (even easier to do). Write articles. Have a website/blog.
Your best bets will be the paper and radio.
Start with the paper (I'm hoping you're in the USA?)
Call the editor of the business section and tell them you're in business in their area. Come up with some sort of thing that makes you a bit different and toss it to them.
In almost every local paper I've seen they love to write about the local biz.
You'll get some great instant exposure and it won't cost you a dime.
Radio is a bit harder, but it's also free.
Come up with a Controversial sounding pitch. "how to know if your lawyer is screwing you..." something like that.
Break it into a top 3 ways sort of thing, toss it into a media pitch and call the station.
You'll want to speak to the producer of a show you feel has listeners who will want to hear what you have to say.
Provide content. Do not sell.
Let me say that again... DO NOT SELL.
I did this a few times and brought in over 45,000 subscribers to my site.
Total cost: $0
Total time: 3-5 minutes per interview
Turn time:
Radio = 1 - 3 days
Paper = 1-2 weeks.
Oh... here's a hint with the paper: find out what company owns them. If there's a larger company, when you speak to the reporter make sure they'll put you out on the internal "wire". (I don't know what it's called but it's where they all get their news)
That's how I blasted through 50 papers in less than a week.
Like moving a mountain - you can either do it stone by stone or you can locate the weak spot, pack it full of C4, light a match and eat a sandwich while the whole thing detonates!
Hope that helps!
