Yes, and in certainty, online is the BEST way of tracking your commercial.
When I first started advertising my home business online, I made a dreadful mistake - I pointed EVERY single personage to my home page.
This was hideous!
I couldn't track who came from where on earth, how long they stayed, etc.
You should point each individual selling method to a different page or sub directory.
For instance, when I was dealing next to Pay Per Click advertising, I would point it to:
ppc.what-ever-my-home-page-was.com
Then I could track the statistics.
Regardless, the most meaningful thing to know is this:
Your "conversion rate."
For instance, if you enjoy 100 people move about to your site, and you have 3 general public buy from you, you have a 3% conversion rate.
3% is a really appropriate conversion rate.
If you have 1000 society go to your website, and individual 1 person buys from you, you enjoy a TERRIBLE conversion rate, and should try to find out WHY they're not buying!
