Answers: There are many functions of marketing according to many theories and opinions of people.
In my opinion, the function of marketing is to increase the credibility of a business, increase the profit margins, increase recognition, increase efficiency, and increase morale and confidence of employees, consumers and potential consumers.
There are endless amounts more I could write, but those are the basics.

promotion
-identifying/finding the suitable market
-studying the prevailing market characteristics
-planning and designing marketing strategy based on the product ( some products need to be penetrated/ some need its demand to be created etc.)
-implementation of the marketing strategy
-analysing the marketing activities
-redesigning the marketing strategy if it is required.( this could be identified by the results of the previous step)
-achieving the target
