Marketing is a much broader nouns which includes advertising as one of its MANY functions. Having said that, you patently can get an media hype job next to a marketing degree... As a business of fact, have worked for multinational agencies (Leo Burnett/Ogilvy/MindShare) for more than 10 years, I cannot recall a single colleague whose point was contained by advertising... including myself!

Advertising is the action of calling something to the attention of the public especially by compensated announcements and the business of preparing advertisements for publication or broadcast.
You can go and get a job within advertising near a Marketing degree. I suggest to you to become an intern contained by college in both field and decide which you corral you prefer.

Say a website generates 1 million to 2 million company. What is the MOST money someone or a company would pay for a one-time media hype banner that would end on the site forever or until the site shut-down? Not monthly payments just a lump sum of money to pay cheque for a square of advertising space. Could it turn up to $50,000.00?Answers: Much lower (but not sure how much)
the problem with trying to put on the market lump sum one time ads is that advertisers would misgivings that once you sold all the flier space your quality of the website would budge down because you no longer have any more money to get out of the site.
Obtaining sponsors for fundraising put somebody through the mill!?
For my select baseball team, i hold to try to get some sponsorships from companies, businesses, etc. I am planning on e-mailing these companies. Does anyone know precise places to be in motion to ask for sponsorships or any compainies that have sponsored you surrounded by the past? Any oblige is appreciated! <10 POINTS>Answers: I ran a travel squad for 8 years and we would raise $5,000 to $20,000 per year. We wrote a mission statement and a fundraising communication. We would hand delieverd the parcels and would request funding. Many big companies have someone contained by charge of PR that would provide the funding. Look at local ballparks and see who already supports baseball or any sport and visit them first. Ask friends and places you shop at regular for sponsership.
Another style we received funding was by holding baseball skills clinics. We would charge between $50 and $150 dollars per clinic per entity. The Newspaper, TV and Radio Station would provide free advertising.
