Answers: I own read G00GLE claims about spamming and wanting commonplace content. One of my best friends builds websites and consults to companies like Motorola and other tec companies. He spams thorny. He uses hidden words one and the same color as the back ground and repeats 150 to 200 Keywords at lowest 10 times in what appears to be derelict space. He claims that search engines use the top third of most page.
G00GLE and yahoo will not give specific details on what is excessive spaming.
No one know who is correct.
It depends on type of keyword..
If a keyword is not competitive or it is not present too frequent times across the web for example you signature, then repeating keywords make sense... but if a keyword is present across the web too heaps times.. then lot of other factor comes into play..
There is not an exact answer to your general quiz except to say that scrabble engines ignore the contents of the keyword meta ticket for ranking purposes.
However as far as your Dad's promotional pieces it will not make the slightest difference because philosophical pages surrounded by the http://www.thebestof.co.uk/cirencester/ are very poorly indexed.
For example if you flush G00GLE for the exact (use quotation marks) phrase "planning a building project in Cirencester" near are no results.
However there is a page http://www.thebestof.co.uk/cirencester/5... containing that thoroughly phrase.
I would not rely to much on this directory.
There is no substitute for your own well promoted website.
