Profit usually refers to the actual profit for any enterprise. For example, McDonald's made $2 Million after paying all expenses.
Profitability typically refers to the percentage one make. For example : The company sold $100, but after expenses made only $1 or 1% profit.

In most simple instrument, Profit is simply the earnings minus expenses of any company. So, this is of late a figure of recital whereas profitability shows ‘company’s ability to brand name profits’. And this ability i.e. profitability is measured by checking one and the same profit figure on the scales of network assets, total worth etc., which we do while calculating profitability ratios similar to return on assets, return on equity etc.
So, if I say two companies A and B enjoy earned alike profit this year amounting to $10 million, it does not mean that profitability of both are same. May be company A have made this profit by investing $1000 million whereas B might have made it purely with $500million, after B would be called more profitable because it is more streamlined.
