What is the difference between politics and management . are these related to each other?
Answers: as a long-time senior manager I can promise you that to be an effective and successful manager, you have to be a politician.the two go hand in hand..
you have to be able to deal with all types of people/personalities and make them all feel as if they are the most important to you and that their issues are the ones that are formost on your agenda..and when things don't go their way you have to be able to deal with them in such a way that they think you seriously considered their ridiculous ideas when in fact you knew it wouldn't work from the word go..
managment / politics are interchangable terms.you can't have one without the other.and those who can't be good politicians will never make it very far (or long) up the management ladder..
the ones of us who can do it convincingly and well are the ones who can turn off the politician and turn themselves back on whenever they walk out the door at the end of the day and not take the politician home with them
Politics is just activities in order to please particular sect of people in order to gain votes to gain power. Management is just an excercise in hormonising people, machinery, material, method in order to achieve set objective.
