Advertising Marketing Questions and Answers

If you were going to sell a product on eBay - what would it be and why?

Answers: Without a doubt I would sell virtual goods, like reports and ebooks. No inventory, low costs. Also, easy to set up:

No worries about shipping also, which is awesome. If you needed to get going *today* with virtual stuff, you could do it. You have to love that.
I would/should create my own guide/report containing affiliate links inside, then set starting bid at $0.01, give people master resell rights.

I would then be building a niche related email list, maybe making some sales via the affiliate links, and also getting free traffic from other people selling the guide.

Few years ago I was helping friend clear out an old building he was taking over, part of the deal was he could take it over if he cleaned out all of the content inside, I ended up coming across loads of old leather related tools and machines :)

If I could find anymore I'd love to sell them again, made about $3000, the bidding on the items was crazy :P
Selling things with the same shipping cost (like CDs) makes it easier for your to ship, and easier to offer discounted shipping prices.

It's also helpful to sell things that people want and need. For example, bubble wrap and postal scales.

If you're going to invest money in things to resell, I recommend buying small things that are easy to store and reship. It will be easier to have 500 earrings at home than 500 boom boxes.

Anything that easy to find with a specific search would also be good, and a great merchandise category to focus on. It will be easier to sell and market replacement hubcaps than cheap necklaces.

Answers: All the ones I found, and I'm sure you also, were squad hats and reasonably expensive. I think your best bet will be to contact a promotional company, the sensitive that sell stuff for trade shows and tolerate them do all the work to find them. Here's one I found:

How to create a target market profile?

Answers: A target market is a well defined description of the customers that a business is trying to serve while making a profit. They will describe their target market in terms of demographic, psychographic, and geographic information. It is determined by various methods of research and market testing.

Demographics are qualities such as: income, race, religion, age, education, etc..

Psychographics are interests of people such as: golf, reading, fishing, art, pets, etc…

Geographic segmentation is defining groups of people by where they live and shop: state, city, area of the city, etc…

These things help a business determine who is more likely to be a customer of their business and how they can better serve their customers.
Maybe you should think about creating personas?

Think about individuals and usability, bottoms up. The market will be defined by these personas.

Try it!
I am not sure if I am answering you, but let me try.

If you are refering to TARGETED TRAFFIC, then you need to understand how you could create this type of traffic.

I list few here:

1. Article marketing is one way because people who will read an article tend to be interested in certain topics. If your website is offering the same content as the article, you are generating targeted traffic.

2. Forums - people who goes to certain forums have same interest as the topic of the forums. If you advertise in the forums or join the forums, you could generate targeted traffic.
