A bedspread sent to somewhere within the US would cost $16 and the same eiderdown sent to Germany cost $48. So it REALLY depends on the weight and size.
Next time you are at the post organization, ask for the international mailer/envolope so you have an perception of the size. And always use the usps division site (link below.) Also get a few priority boxes that are speckled for international shipping so you can find items that fit in those boxes--but know the price will swing.
