Advertising Marketing Questions and Answers

Suggestions for selling funeral services/cemetery.?

I asked this question in the past. Do you have any suggestions for selling pre-need funeral services and burial ground. Most people do not close to to deal next to this subject. I am looking for out of the box thinking. I am not desperate for suggestions, I just know this is a big forum and am looking for concept that I would not think of.

Thanks!

Answers: You will want to focus on the customer requests and develop them into needs. The best mode to do this is to make a focus on domestic values.

Find a way to show togetherness even surrounded by death. How a unbroken line of age group can be brought together, even in departure. A whole ethnic group plot, of caring for their wants through generation heritage and values.

Basically, open market family values, the passageway to be remembered and secure the people in the adjectives ... even in the unthinkable.

Putting these values and conveying them properly into marketing fabric as well as advertisement is what i am suggesting.

Whole family plots can be sold this mode. "Morbid Marketing", I should start a service, ha ha ha.
No one likes to be sold.
You've get to tune into their station-WIIFM (What's In It For Me)
Have them do the math & hit them with the not easy numbers.

Bring them to the point of considering that overall there is a HUGE population (BabyBoomers) on the horizon to be taking up sensible plots, timed services, and so on.

This will put a tremendous burden of pressure on those trying to deal next to last minute preparations, not to mention the increased $$s added to the overall frustrations.
Tell them to be proactive surrounded by this department of their lives- They won't regret it !
I have sold pre-need for tons years and have trained pre-need salespeople as resourcefully as funeral directors. I have be a featured speaker at funeral and graveyard conventions and I must disagree with Reagan. There is no positive aspect to being a funeral director when selling pre-need. It take a completely different set of skills and knowledge. Most directors (but not all) are lousy at pre-need planning. They don't want to pilfer a professional interest in the financial side of it. They don't comprehend all the different insurance and edge trust options and they don't take in how to project future inflation. They are not marketing empire and they usually don't want to keep database collection of prospects.
