Question almost college crucial (graphic design/marketing)?
is there a core that already combines or involves both graphic design & marketing together? or is in that anything close to it?is it graphic communications?
Answers: Find a college to be exact more of a technical university and has a devout advertising art/graphic design program. Don't try to obtain this at any university, or your degree won't be worth a crap. Find one that you in fact work in both field from day one. In Detroit, in that is a school call the Center for Creative Studies I think, and they do deeply of the design for car companies, within New York they have the Fashion Institute of Technology which combines clear design of clothing with commerce, advertising and sale. All over the country there are art and systematic schools, freshly research them well.
I go to Northwood Institute in Michigan for 2 years for "Retail Advertising and Store Management"...and surrounded by those two years I had more classes that directly pertained to my opening than most 4 year business students at large colleges. They have a really strong advertising department, but at the time we didn't attain the graphic arts. (That be over 20 years ago.) They did give us ample skill to learn ourselves when PC's become household tools, because we had the design and media hype skills developed.
What particular industry are you interested within working in? There are methodical schools that specialize within many field, and if you have a strong interest contained by one thing, jump for the more specialized degree. The bare bones are the same, but you will gain a more in depth schooling. Have fun!
Depending on the college the major you are looking for could be call graphic communications, communication design, pictographic design, graphic arts, medium arts, etc.
They should all be similar but as expected vary by college. Marketing should be tied into most of those majors since symbolic design and marketing are so connected.
