Explain how customer service provide a competitive adavantage for a comercial organization?
Answers: Customer service is one of the few chances a business has to interact with a customer after they have made a purchase. If the customer's experience is positive, they are more likely to become a repeat and loyal customer. There is also the possibility of selling additional products and services when you have a customer engaged in dialog, whether over the phone, through email, or in person.
Is a degree essential to be an art director at an advertisement company?
Answers: Do you mean a college degree with a major in art or advertising?
The short answer is yes. Not having a degree will be a handicap, and make it much harder to get a job. It's an excuse to throw your resume in the trash rather than give you an interview.
That being said, people do work their way up. Art and advertising are careers where your portfolio matter just as much or more than your education.
A degree or some form of postsecondary training is essential
Although talent is the critical requirement, there is much competition because the arts attract many talented people with creative ability.
Artists usually develop their skills through a bachelor’s degree program or other postsecondary training in art or design.
The following is from the source:
Evidence of appropriate talent and skill is displayed in an artist’s portfolio, is an important factor used by art directors, clients, and others in deciding whether to hire an individual or contract for their work. Assembling a successful portfolio requires skills usually developed through postsecondary training in art or visual communications. Internships also provide excellent opportunities for artists to develop and enhance their portfolios
What's the difference between public relations and "business communication," or "public affairs?"
are these all one and the same terms or do they imply something entirely different?I'm especially interested in looking at PR vs Public Affairs
Answers: All three of these are different.
Business communications is a broad permanent status. Public relations and public affairs both fall below the category of business communications. Public affairs is a form of public relations which is "public relations" for the government. Public relations can also be for companies and non profits. This would not be described as public affairs.
There are PR firms such as Edelman, Golin Harris, Hill and Knowlton ect... that focus on public relations. Some of these companies also hold a public affair branch.
Hope this is useful.
Granted in that are lots of gray areas between these disciplines. I would say business communication is the function of deliver the organization's message in a consistent attitude. Public affairs is similar, but also is the point organization for regulatory entities, local and state government, etc. Public Relations is usually more of a "marketing" entity that may have input to promotion and sales promotion to trade name sure brands are reinforced. Public Relations would be the entity that is charged next to brand development. Lots of areas where on earth these three may overlap, but each structure will develop it's own mission.
