I get a Consumer Products survey contained by the messages...is it a scam?

Hello,

Today I got a brown envelope and inside it told me to complete this survey entitled 'ALBERTA CONSUMER PRODUCT SURVEY'. It said that if I be one of the first 200 Albertans to mail it, I'd return with $500. A pre-paid envelope is included. I was wondering if this is a scam or not. The one and only personal information the survey asks is your name and address.

Answers: I would importantly expect it would be a scam. I don't know how, if they aren't asking personal info. I would imagine that they don't retribution off at adjectives, you would have no means of access of knowing if you were within fact one of the first 200.

Think something like it $500 times 200 responses is 100 thousand dollars. That seems severely high.

Answers: Focus on becoming not just an authority in your market, but become THE authority. Find somebody in the organization who you think presents well, come up with a few media pitches and then get in the news.

Nothing sells more stuff and builds more confidence than being in the paper, on the radio, on TV.

Advertising does not work. You need to learn how to sell without selling. Give stuff away, make an event out of things...

The basic best way to make a lot of sales is to be the company everyone wants to hang out with. Once they're in they buy. Once they buy make sure you're selling quality and they'll keep coming back!
Start a branding campaign to gain TOMA (top of mind awareness) in your area and people will think of you first. Or you can get fast results with a sale, contest, give-away, or make you salespeople work a little harder by giving them some kind of incentive or bonus. Kind of hard to answer your question without more details about what you are trying to promote the sales of.
And are you currently the marketing manager? Or is this for a class or something because a marketing manager should not have to ask this kind of question.
That will depend greatly on the product you are trying to promote. Shotguns have a much different target customer than baby's clothing and the marketing for each will vary accordingly.

Just like everyone else, lie, misrepresent, and overhype your products. Never, ever give enough concrete information for people to figure out whether your product is any good, or a good value.
