Which companies pay you to advertise there company on my car?
Answers: I have read article about success in that type of advertising but people solicited their own contacts. Most companies want to charge you a fee or by the month to keep you on a list for potential clients. This type of advertising will work just on an individual basis. Do not wait for a company to make you money. Make it for yourself.
If you want to do this I suggest you approach companies yourself with the advertising proposal.

I am questioning the ethics of using my college alumni database to contact prospective customers. Opinions...?
Answers: Not unethical, but definitely obnoxious. That wouldn't get my business.
i think that's called "SPAM"
i don't think you should do it
Just an opinion - I think it is fine to use alumni connections to make a personal connection with a qualified prospect, e.g., men in classes 1990-1995, with two children, who live in Texas. I don't think it's fine, to send a mass email to everyone in the directory. Most alumni databases will consider the latter to be a violation of their policy, that you agreed to when you clicked "I accept the terms of this database" button.
Second Pel Mel's opinion.
I skipped reunions up until the 30th for just that reason. Before that, all those named on the "will attend" list showed Insurance Agent or Real Estate sales as occupations. Everyone else was on the "missing persons" side.
I wouldn't do that. How would you feel if you got thousands of emails from those other people trying to sell YOU stuff?
Just a thought. :)
How would bring general public to come to your site?
it's hard on the internet to maintain your site going with out family who are not prepered to help, build and update the site, what would YOU do?Answers: use meta-files to work beside key words that help the search engines find you
Keep the site as up to date as you can as inhabitants stop visiting static sites so take home regular changes
Also create links to other sites the more links you can carry to your site then the better check out engines will be when looking for your type of site
Invest in upright software it will help you and don't forget to hang on to your domain name salaried for I missed the payment on mine and it cost me a fortune contained by lost business and restart costs
Do it yourself?
Or fine reliable people to back you.
if you plan on getting others to do it and they wont then do it yourself, or settle up them! (presuming your expecting them to do it for freee in the first place!)
and to gain people to come, you own to advertise, within most cases anyway, in others its word of mouth, but that can lone happen if your website is really honourable!! eg bebo (social network adjectives around the world) has no public relations (as far as i know) and yet its the most popular of adjectives social networks!
another example is starbucks, there a intercontinental company and they have never ever advertise!
Focus on SEO and SMO. In fact, I in recent times checked my keywords and after only 2 days I'm #14 within G00GLE for a very solid keyword. Give it another 4 and I'll be within the top 7.
It almost doesn't matter what sort of site you hold, what's important is that you're getting exposure for it, and getting that exposure from the right individuals.
What I do is focus most of my efforts on 1 passageway links and providing quality content and information to the empire who need what I do and get rid of.
That seems to work relatively well.
Not sure what service or product your site promotes, but
my company near a few retail locations launched a website 2 years ago. Back next paid keyword driven media hype was the just way to grasp some incoming traffic, and we paid a few hundred dollars to G00GLE every month, whose per click rates be less than a dollar, next to most in the 5 cents - 50 cents inventory. Since then, G00GLE's keyword prices hold become astronomical, with respectively click costing around $7 to $10 now, so we hold opted out of G00GLE in a minute.
Everyone recommends getting nominated in dmoz.org to start increasing the pagerank for a site, but we be never successful in getting planned, and were not competent to reach someone at dmoz.org to find status of our submission. We give up after about 8 months of trying.
Surprisingly, most of our traffic and successful conversions come from 2 sources, so we decided to switch our remunerated advertising to those providers - MSN ( http://www.msn.com ) and BizCron ( http://www.bizcron.com ). MSN worked resourcefully to drive traffic to our site, and bizcron worked well to deliver customers to our retail franchise locations. The successful conversion rates from company to paid customers near both providers were surrounded by the 10% - 20% range.
Some statistics:
We have an average of 3.89% clicks for each poster shown for both the above providers in 2007 (or 3.89 clicks for every 100 impressions), and an average conversion of 1.56% (or 1.56 paying customers for every 100 impressions) or in the region of 52% conversion from clicks (1 of 2 people who clicked purchased something from us). We have about 718% more traffic from the above providers than next to G00GLE.
I am not sure about others, but from what I work out, the above is good return on promotion investment.
My SEO consultant charges lb 100-lb120 per month and of the four sites i presently does they are all on G00GLE Page 1.
The amount of contemporary enquiries to my business has be incredible.
He is what all small company website owners should use at these prices, some are charging 2 K and doing nought.
If you need him tolerate me know and i will pass you his number.

Consider placement of various critical SEO [Search Engine Optimization] metatags that can
surely complete a high look into engine presence and
increase Internet traffic to your website. These
metatag strategies work well beside published websites
at G00GLE and Yahoo.
Design: Should you create an extensive Flash-based
website, make sure to fill-in the property entries
such as the Title, Description and Keywords. Failing
to do so, leaves no rugged HTML or ALT resource that can
be readily indexed by search robots. Also consider the
Internet audience and their incoming setup. For
example, if they are on analog/dialup, Flash webpages
cart too long to load up and in consequence analog users
will likely lose interest and discontinue entering the
Flash site. On the other paw, anyone on hi-speed DSL
lines, will welcome Flash page which load rapidly. So
before designing a pure Flash websitge, ask the simple
examine, "Who's my end user - is he on dialup or
DSL?" And if you have to choose between these two users
for maximum marketability, then select analog users
since 80% of most resident users are still analog
Internet subscribers and pure HTML designed webpages
is best for them.
A non-Flash-based website which relies on sturdy text,
is far easier to be indexed by poke about robots. Limit
the use of stylized text save as .gifs since as a
graphic, they are not indexable by check out robots.
Avoid use of frames since any number of search robots
are unqualified to properly classify textual material.
Placement of Metatags:
A ranking or scour order does give somebody a lift place with G00GLE
and Yahoo and it begin with the "Title" metag which
should consist of no more than 65 characters separated
by commas. The "Title" should describe within generic
terms, the merchandise and services, followed by a location
from which the resource is located, i.e., city, state.
The placement of a domain name which is not generic
inside the "Title" is not appropriate, unless your
domain name is a highest recognizable brand first name.
The second metatag is the "Description" which is
usually 41 words to form a complete sentence which
best describes one's goods and services.
And the terrifically last category - "Keywords" are also
somewhat constrained to 15 words which can be plural
and compound in outlook. Again, avoid multiple entries
which could be mistaken as "spamdexed entries" which
is defined as the loading, and submission of
repetitive words into a particular metatag category.
"Spamdexing" when discovered on a webpage and reported
to G00GLE's spamreport.com can result within the
elimination of your website from their dig out
directory.
Good luck!
