Anyone know some reliable website promotion ?

Hi im triying to advertise my website and im looking for some reliable channel to do it. It does not have to be free but i don't want to pay cheque for some auto-surf or links that will never get clicked on. I hold tried google ads and keywords go way overpriced. Hi,

I own a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I own 3 companies). One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals. These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The benefit is that these portals usually get seriously of traffic and they're ranked lofty on Google because of all the ability links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a soul enter's their company info. I received it in the e-mail 3 days ago =)
