No, it's not appropriate. It would be horrible to put your customers on the spot like that. And the dash is poorly worded. They know you're open for business, and if they're jubilant with you, they'll relay others.
The best thing you can do it take some nice, simple business cards made up and leave a few of them beside every order. This subtlety will travel a long way. You'll generate unusual business while looking classy. Maybe put the line "The best compliment I can receive is your referral."
