One of the things my director did was enjoy a "celebration party" for me. I invited as many family as I could. I sent out invitations with offering certificates for the first 10 race to RSVP. I called everyone a few days past the party to brand sure they could come and if they could not then I offered to do a facial/class or give them a discount on their first purchase with me. Start near the people you know and quality comfortable with and they will head you to others. Ask people you are selling to presently to give you referral and if they do offer next some type of gift or discount. Don't be afraid to lose a touch money to make it. The "warm chatter" hypothesis is nice but it is hard to do if you are shy, approaching me, or just starting. I also have my husband take a few brochures and books to where on earth he works and got closely of contacts from this.
