Sure, it could be, but as long as it's just them media hype, it causes no problems for us that use it to natter to friends. It doesn't cost anything. I'm not too worried. MySpace started as a way for band to get notice by writers, record label, investors, etc.
You're right in that in a minute it is huge and they have profiles for movies, TV shows, etc., but you can still use it lacking worrying about adjectives of that.
