Here's a small example. Let's vote I retail widgets that I buy from a manufacturer of widgets and put up for sale to consumers of widgets. And let's say the factory owner pays $100 in objects and labor to make the product and wants to make $100 to clear for his house. So he sells me one widget a week for $200.

I must cover my cost and I inevitability to make $100 a week to wage for my house, so I sell it for $300. Only 1 customer within 100 wants and can afford a $300 widget!! So I can solely sell one widget a week.

Now my entrepreneur would like to put on the market more widgets because he needs to wages for his food as well as his house, I'd close to to sell more widgets so I can get through too. So the manufacturer invests surrounded by the tools that allow him to produce more widgets per week, say 10, lacking increasing his costs by 10.
