I was lately curious as to why, when a company markets a product..we'll read out Tide...they always appear to come out with a topical and improved reworked copy of that product...and leave the infirm product for sale?? People in fact believe that it's a new product and not a short time ago a nifty new color or design for the box...which most the time that's just what it probably is!

That used to drive me nuts when I was stocking at a grocery department and a product come out with a different paper (usually, as you say, 'new and improved').
Customers, usually infirm ladies, would hunt me down with both boxes surrounded by their hands. They would say aloud, "Excuse me, sir. Are these the same products? Why are they within different packages?"
I would kindly (Thank God they couldn't read my mind) recommend to them, "The one box is the clean and improved product. However, heaps customers tell me they prefer the matured product better. I would suggest you purchase both boxes and experiment. Decide for yourself. Because, if you like the elder one better, you better stock up. We will not have any to put on the market in the effective future."
This usually worked and they bought both. Many times they returned and stocked up because they said they took my guidance and they preferred the old product. Sheesh!
Another point to your watch, they bragged for years how great their product was beforehand, yet it be improved? That's not axiom much for their previous boasts, is it?
