I recently put surrounded by my 2 week notice because I hold a new charge. I put it in on tuesday, the 27th and my employment would be terminated as of june 10th, which medium my last year would be the 9th, right? That are 14 calendar days, which are 2 weeks. Now I've been told that I own to work on the 10th because I put in the see on a tuesday, so I have to work that ending tuesday too... I can't work though cuz I start my new profession immediately!
I enjoy 2 weeks of paid leave left, which I will go and get paid out, but I will lose it if I don't show up at work. And I can't request any days stale after putting my notice contained by (company's policy)
It's frustrating that they make such a huge accord because of one day. But I wanna know if I'm right so I know if I quarrel for my right or if it's hopeless.

Answers: If its a written policy, check the specifics in your hand handbook. Depending on the vernacular, you may be able to conflict it. Be sure to take a copy when you will in satchel you do need to conflict it later. If you can PROVE that you are contained by the right, then you could other make a claim to your state dept of labor if you give up your job on the 9th & they don't pay you your break. If the language is not clear, next you may have to work on the 10th, or chomp through the vacation time. If you hold to work on the 10th explain the situation to your new employer, if you are upfront next to them, hopefully they will work with you, or tolerate you make up that daytime another way. Actually they are right you do have to work that tuesday but you could magically attain sick or something. but who cares you hold a new career and you should just put it trailing you and walk away from them and enjoy fun at your new assignment!! You should always state within a termination letter what afternoon will be your last hours of daylight worked to prevent confusion. I discern you are correct. I'd fight it. I judge they just don't want to payment your vacation. you put your thought in on a tuesday that channel 2 tuesdays later is your concluding day. I am contained by somewhat of a situation like yours right very soon. but in other things. You inevitability the money but if you keep it you might close up loosing more. They can't hold the 2 weeks of vocation from you, you earn that its your money, it should be agenst the law for them to not consent to you have it. Your right you should scuffle for it, but then again it might not be worth taking the company to court over 2 weeks. I'm assuming your clean job is better and high paying job, honestly I would a short time ago call surrounded by sick and go to the up to date job, I know 2 weeks of calling time is alot of money but if you miss your first day at your current job You could loose alot more. Your foreign job is more high-status.
