I need a good excuse to get the day of work next tuesday as i have an all day job interview. Any Ideas?

Answers: ask for the day off.
DO NOT LIE!
if you lie and the new job does not work out and the boss finds out you lied then what?
tell your supervisor you have an appointment and offer to do whatever is needed to make it work. your current employer and those you work with should not be put in a bind because you want off, so you need to offer to work this out so the day off is a win-win situation.

"as you climb the ladder of success be careful of who you climb over, they may need to catch you if you fall"
Say that your mom, brother, spouse or some other very close relation needs to be driven to their colonoscopy appointment. This is a simple, outpatient procedure that takes about half the day (but can take longer) The patient is given IV anesthetic & cannot be released from the hospital unless someone else is able to provide transportation. Also, it is a common screening procedure ~ so there is no need to make up further lies regarding their health status, etc.

You could also call that morning to say you have diarrhea. It is embarrasing to say out loud ~ but *no one* will question you about it. So many people call off & claim they have "food poisioning" which always sounds fake. But if you have the balls to admit diarrhea, people generally believe it.

Don't mention doctor's appointment or car trouble ~ your company may ask for documentation to prove it, then you will be in a bind.

Then again, you could always simply ask for the day off, or try to find another person to work for you. Whatever you decide, best of luck on your interview :)
Why don't you just ask for that day off unless you work just Monday thus Friday. I was a manager for a long time my employees found out it is always better to just ask off the week before. The reason for this was I would call and check when they told me something that didn't sound right.

What to do subsequent?

I sent a followup email Monday to a prospective employer. I was told they hoped to cause a decision by final Friday. I have hear nothing from anyone. What should I do subsequent? Just forget about them, appointment them, etc?

Answers: you have the right to phone up them if you spend time talking to them. So send for them, but don't seem overy pushy. tba
Personally I aversion it when prospective employees nickname after an interview.

You shouldn't have sent the email, any. The best bet is to send a thank you for the opportunity of the interview. Just so much more professional.
I would freshly wait and see.

I'm sure you are not the one and only one who applied for a job,
and they are plentiful more applicants to review.

Relax, and wish for a apposite
You can call them it wont hurt and it shows you hold interest in the livelihood. You should apply to other positions as well so you dont own to rely on just this one opportunity.
