What is the difference in MARKETING AND SALE?
Answers: Marketing is concerned with optimizing the 4 "P"s:
Product: what should we sell? what features should we have?
Price: What margin Can we achieve? What are competitive products priced at?
Place: Where would buyers expect to see our product? What other channels would be good?
Promotion: How should we advertise? What forums?
All of the above is simple in concept, but complicated in execution.
Sales has input to all the above, and is targeted at presenting the product, qualifying the buyers and closing the purchase. etc., etc.
Marketing is what you do to get the customer into the store to buy
Sales is what you do from that point onwards
marketing is the activity of presenting, advertising and selling a company's product in the best possible way..
SALE: is the promotion to attract the customers as well as consumers...
Look at it like this: Marketing is the guy spreading the news or the hype about a product. (advertising).
Sales is the actual sell of the product to produce some form of gain.
Marketing is a broader term than just advertising. Advertising is a part of marketing. Most important theory regarding marketing is as explained here 4Ps Theory. Friends please remember Marketing nowadays is determining the product itself. What kind of a product to be produced by a manufacturer now a days is determined by marketing researches so now we can safely say marketing is bigger than sales. Sales is a smaller term now .
