I am a unmarked graduate of a surgical tech program trying to gain work and extra experience?
Recently graduated from a surgical tech program and be on a job hunt since december some of the hospitals are clich¨¦ no to me becuase I don't have adequate experience working in O.R. but its exasperating becuase Im trying to gain experience working for a hospital or surgery center I just obligation for someone to tell me how can I gain experience and also is within away to talk to o.r. manager to see if they will take a uncertainty on hiring a new graduate I graduate with a 3.95 gpa and also be a student mentor in surgical technology and also on my extern ship the doctors be impress with my skills Im simply getting frustrated in looking for work as a alien surgical tech in atlantaAnswers: wow me and you, we're both matching..it's insane looking for a surgical tech job..i've be job hunting for almost a year immediately and still no luck!and i've got a loan to verbs about aswell! i'm suprise that it's also tricky to find jobs outside california. i be even thinking of going out of state. how the hell are we suppose to get experience if they don't make available us a chance? i too be a top notch student! 4.0 gpa, partaker of that stupid ast, and will be getting my certification soon.i'm so disappointed how extremely difficult to return with a tech job considering how i love the profession so much!i love the hypothesis of me standing next to a surgeon and making a difference within someone's life. and i'm so sick of ancestors telling me that i should enjoy gone to nursing school..i procure it, they make loads of money and they are super surrounded by demand. but similar to i said, i love what a tech does for a living.i hope something will change in connection with this matter. please giveeeeeeee meeeeeeee a jobbbbbbbbbbb!

Answers: Depends on the season, where you work, work ethic, attitude.
in AZ they're making something like $2.35/hr again depends on where you work. My friends on an average night were making 150-250 in tips for 4-6 hours "work" slow night 50 -75 for 1-4 hours. On occasion I'd hear about 600 and 800+ nights for one server. SO some times they were livin' it up and other times eatin' the free food at work to get by.

generally, a server makes the state minimum for tipped employees, which here in maryland is less than 3 bucks an hour. servers rarely get a paycheck and if they do its minimal (last one i got was for 5 bucks). the paycheck is taxed for their tips.
how much money a server makes on tips varies greatly depending on the restaurant/bar.
tipping varies a great deal too. 15% is considered a standard minumum for service by a fair amount of people. 18% is what i (and many in my industry) believe should be standard. its often the included gratuity added to large parties in alotta places. 20% is what i generally feel i deserve. im good at my job in an industry where a lot arent. 20% is my most common tip percentage.
that said, there are a lot of people that undertip or dont tip, even when good or great service is given. thats frustrating not only b/c its like working for nothing, but b/c a server generally tips busboys and bartenders a percentage of thier sales, not tips. so if you get stiffed on a tip, you just paid to wait on that table.
there are some generous folks out there, too. people that reward good service and humanize their servers are gems!
Sometimes if you dont have to drive to far but if tips are slow or if your boss dipps into your tips it sucks.I had a boss who was the cook and felt we should tip him.We were getting like 3$ an hour those tips meant everything to us but its standard to tip the cook.Some places you also have to tip the bartender and the barback or busboy so It really depends where you live and what the restaurant is like. Im sorry but I dont know anywhere that you get paid 10 or 15 dollars an hour thats a fantasy the rate is about 3$!
