He's on pretty flimsy ground when employed underneath 2 years - and the lack of contract is your reprimand, not his - he does have rights but lone in as much as you impart him notice to depart from then if you do not want him to work that make out you pay him contained by lieu.

If there's no contract, I would say there's no constraint.

If he's be made redundant, then after 18 months service he is NOT entitled to any redundancy remuneration or anything, but he's correct in that he IS entitled to compensated time off to attend interviews.
However if he's be sacked, afterwards no, he is not entitled to any time past its sell-by date.
Note that this is the law (in the UK), and whether in attendance was a contract or not is irrelevant. If within was a contract it may own different terms than this, but lacking one then the tenet applies.

You should think give or take a few what you love to do when you're not doing things you *have* to. What do you like to do when you own free time? Do you like to read above adjectives else? Maybe you should work in the publishing industry. Do you approaching to paint? Maybe you could be a graphic designer.
Try lots of things. No one will force you into a crappy errand, but you may end up within if you get languorous and comfortable in a so-so opening that you don't absolutely love!

Sure, sometimes. But what career isn't? Am I financially stable? Yes, but the money isn't the motivating factor. It also took a few years to get to this point. When I took my artistic position with the association it was at a low stipend, but I looked at it as an opportunity to get my foot within the door at a respected organization I looked-for to be a part of. I've since be promoted three times and have gain valuable experience surrounded by the public relations field.
My advise- if you savour your classes stick with your core. Every major company contained by the world has a marketing/communications department. So if your keenness is finance, pharma, non-profit, etc, likelihood are you'll find a job near a company that shares your interests.

No one can really tell you what you'll be ecstatic doing. Trust me. I have a level in Journalism, and I didn't realize I detested it until my first real chore after college. My internship had be a cakewalk with a word "magazine" that was really solitary interested in selling ad. I got to a existing newspaper and it be a slap in the facade what this industry is really like (how serious it is). I didn't relish it and only last a few months.
The best thing you can do is receive part time job and internships, as many as possible. It's the "try beforehand you buy" philosophy. Start early and gain as much hand on experience as you can to help you opt if this is where you want to be. NO ONE will provide you an internship once you're out of college. Trust me, it sucks. Find out before you hold a degree you might can`t stand later!
