Job Hunting Query - Job Searching Tips for IT job?
I am a trained Network Engineer in Cisco/Windows infrastructure. 4 Year permanent status in US Airforce surrounded by NOC and:AA in IT Systems, CCNP, CCSP, CCDP, MCSE module training, A+Training, numerous training and hand on on utilities such as: HP openview, Cisco Works etc.
Not been competent to land an IT work for 18 months. "Nailed" two jobs, one within Mid 2006 and another in hasty 2007, bad luck locked me out for different co-incidental occurrence right before signing a contract.

ok ive been at this duty for 8 years. i always capture good per annum reviews and they always administer a 1.30% raise. is this regular?Answers: Wait.only 1.3%! You've be there 8 years! No, it is NOT middle-of-the-road. Sorry, but your employer is very cheap and a penny pincher! The norm for most companies is 5-10%.

1.3% incline is quite desperate. However - you are still getting a raise.
The company I work for roughly gives 6-10% per annum raises, though thats over the marketplace average.
I think average is 3-5%.
The more you take home the less salary increases you receive. This is just a reality. Also, are you working in a profitable business or is it losing money. If you are low, take it up next to your boss or look for another job. The reduction is falling apart and companies are taking advantage of this.

3% is the norm. An exceptional member of staff might merit a 4 - 5 % raise.
1.3% suggests that they are living contained by 1955 or they don't value you completely much.

** To answer your quiz, the really good company's impart you 5%. The less will dispense you 3% or the down right sorry will give you what you get.

if a good review is the best that you can receive and this is your merit increase consequently it does seem low.
if correct isn't the best you can receive, then do what you call for to do to get a better review.

you've been near for 8 years and they only grant that for a raise? What the hell? Most companies do 4-6% but it does enjoy to do with what industry you are contained by. That's pretty poor raise. In reality, if you don't say anything, later expect to see that same raise subsequent year.
If you decide to protest, later prepare the laundry list of accomplishments that you've made, more importantly if you have an impact on the companies bottom line, for example if you save the company money or made the company money. Go to your boss and tell him/her what you've done for the company and why you deserve a better tilt.
Jeez, it doesn't even sound approaching your employer is keeping up with inflation. a 1% lift up? Why do people even stay in that?
