Alright, so I am a 22 year ancient recent college graduate...and looking for work.?

I have a commission with my kinfolk at our restaurant making approx. $28,000 gross pay (40-50hrs weekly). I am curious what I am missing out on? Could I be doing better...really? I hear adjectives these people wise saying graduates get around 30-40k a year. I do not see jobs close to this lining up around here...where on earth is best to look? I live in upstate New York to clarify any question with my monetary wants. I have a AAS contained by Marketing and a BBA with a minor contained by Financial Services. Am I missing something.or am I just the simply one not seeing these paying jobs when I flush in NY? All aid will be GREATLY appreciated!

Answers: Since you have a surroundings in food and beverage, I would try to take a job at a Hotel Chain. Eventually you could work your process up to Food and Beverage Director. Maybe start aout as a Manager at the Restaurant.

But this will give you an opportunity near a renown name, and you could own a ladder to climb, great benefits, and the opportunity to move to different cities, especially if a hot hotel opens. So conjecture, Omni, Starwood Hotels, Sharaton, Hilton, The W. There are sooo many hotels surrounded by NYC, you should send out resumes to adjectives of them. See what happens. Also have worked at a hotel in NY will look fantastic on a resume.

You could also try cruise ships.

I used to work for a top promotion company in NYC. It does not concern what type of degree you enjoy. They are very difficult positions to come by. You usually have to know race. And in NYC so heaps people are vying for those job. Also the Advertising business is a burning ember, as we know it. A lot of the work is not under one roof anymore. It is contracted out through other companies and they use greatly of freelancers. The firm I worked at hired people right out of college to do internships. And consequently if they were lucky they started at $40K. That is nil to live on in NYC. You hold to work yourself up to Creative Director before you start making six data. But put some resumes out and try. Just know that it is a very difficult grazing land to get into.

Your scope demonstrates that you studied business. So I would go that angle. Advertising is similar to trying to be an actor, sorry to burst your bubble. You might even find some sort of classes on paperwork. You don't have to own a degree surrounded by it, but just some sort of citations could help.

Good luck! =)
$28,000/52wks=$538/55(1.5 ot added) $9.79 per/hr

When I be 22 I earned $28,000 too. However, it be 1995, no college, and in Texas. I earn $30,000 last year lone working 3 months and collecting unemployment for 6 months. I also almost completed my first two years of college.

Is Upstate cost of living dignified too? If you can sell anything at adjectives you could be making 60k pretty easy. This would also introduce you to TRUE world marketing.

Money isn't everything though.

Where's the best place apply for a employment if you a fulltime student and would approaching to be paid more than min wage?

I'm a fulltime college student and need a opening that offers flexible scheduling. I'm not sure where on earth to look because I want to get out of food service, would resembling to work in an organization (and I would be very entry level), and would resembling to make atleast $9.5/hourly. I know these expectations aren't too far-fetched, hopefully. I don't really want to work for a big corporation because it's so impersonal. Advice?
