What are good things to put on a resume when you are a High School Senior and have no real work experience?

Answers: I formally worked for a placement agency and we received resumes from students all the time. The most important thing you can do is have a professional resume put together. Spend 25-30 dollars and have one written for you. Double check all spelling, font and format style are very important.
Second and this is very important obtain an email address that isn't some goofy name like joecool(a)allll.lllll

The body of your resume should state that you are looking for a part time job as you are preparing for college (if this is true) or state you are looking for a part time job with the opportunity of becoming a full time job when you graduate.

List any clubs, extra activities you were involved in. If you weren't list classes you found most interesting and that you did well in. Get references from your teachers, church clergy, business professionals that you may know that can give you a positive refernce. If you are good with computers list all the software you are familiar with - Excel, Word, Adobe, etc.

Above all do not lie about anything. Almost every company does a background check including, a driving check. If you have a myspace or a facebook website understand that employers will and can legally go and check it out. So if you are standing there with a beer in your hand and a half naked female in the other then most employers will say see ya.

As for the web pages employers also tend to check these out later and will fire you for "immoral character" if they come across something they do not think is within the company guidelines. Even if this is on your day off.

If you have babysat, mowed lawns, anything like that then turn it into your own business. Example: John's Private Child Care. I ran my own Child Care business. Which included taking care of and providing safe and secure surroundings for children. I preferred to take care of them at my home but upon occassion would travel to homes. (this is a fancy way of saying you baby sat but it looks good) John's Lawn Service. Providing local residence's with lawn maintenance year round. I had several regular clients who I maintained their lawn which included mowing, edging, and trimming. I also provided certain clients with extra services such as mulching, weeding and fertilizing during the year. Once again a fancy way of saying you mowed lawns but it looks good. Let them know that keeping your "clients" happy was your main priority.

If you were the cashier at a football game, the church carnival, whatever list that. If you answered phones for someone for any length of time list that. Once again a professional writing your resume will help this all look better than you doing it yourself.

Good luck
any extra-curricular activities or communtiy service things that you have done. plus make sure you put some of your skills - discribe the ones that are good for the particular job your looking for. list any of your strong caracteristics and anything that you think will help you to get the job you want!
-hey best of luck bud!!
