What help a human being stay focused on errand hunting?
Job hunting is hard because it seem like everyone is better than me when it comes to doing work. People own such strong opinions and are competitive. I am sick of thought like I will be a loser when I bring back the next charge. So how do I get over this thought of intimidation and just find work that I can do and am totally willing to do?Answers: I be on a serious job hunt from March-November 2007. I tried EVERYTHING from e-mailing resumes and cover correspondence from jobs found on Craig's List to spending 2 days "within the field" going into business and trying to talk near managers more or less open positions. Over adjectives, I applied to over 300 companies out of those..I landed interviews near 3 and was hired beside 1. I have be employed there since November and still don't imagine it's good plenty for my current skills and financial needs to I am more or less to re-enter the job hunt.
Here's what I widely read through the process:
1. There is absolutely no such article as job payment anymore
2. Very little people maintain the same position and the same company for more than 3-6 years in the present day.
3. You HAVE to have a plan. I tried a few different ones.
It usually help if you target a few companies and really focus on them. Research as much about those companies as possible.
Attend any livelihood fairs surrounded by your area. I go to one job event before where on earth I talked next to about 20 employer and only land an interview with one.. however that employer mentioned within the interview that he was impressed how resourcefully I was mingling next to people contained by the room.
One tactic I used that wasn't successful was dictum "Send out 50 resumes this week" Power in numbers?
One book that really help me was Guerilla Marketing for Job Hunters.
What make you think that everyone is better than you? Surely you enjoy some skills that are desired. Even if you are unskilled and looking for extreme entry-level work, showing that you are committed and determined is important.
hungry & no $$$ make me focus!!

How do I list references on a resume if I don't want anyone at work to know I'm looking for a job?
Answers: You don't. If you have a resume template that includes a section for references, you can indicate the following:
"References available upon request".
During your interview, if the potential employer requests refernces, explain that you have not discussed leaving with your present employer, so they can not contact them.
This situation arises quite often and most interviewer understand.
I never list my references on my resume. I willl provide them during the interview if asked. You can list as refereces: past employers, past employees (who know your work ethics), long time friends, a former teacher/professor/instructor, a pastor/priest.
