I'm currently working at a call basis as a customer service representative, but have established on a career contained by HR and will be pursuing a degree within HR this July. So I'm thinking of asking for a transfer to the HR dept to gain experience. Should I approach the HR Manager directly or my Team Leader first? If my request is turned down, should I look for a charge in HR elsewhere so that by the time I graduate surrounded by 2 years, I would have gain some experience, or continue next to my current job till I capture my degree?Thanks contained by advance!
Answers: The prerequisite for becoming a bureaucrat is getting a basic point. There is nothing wrong surrounded by sending a letter to the HR bureaucrat through your team commanding officer stating your desire to be shifted to HR department. If this is not accepted please modify your job and afterwards per sue the degree , so that you would hold gained experience within the field !!

While it would be considered better etiquette to speak to your Team Leader first, I would approach the HR boss in a cool manner. When you see them, agree to them know you are changing your amount to HR, and ask if there are any positions available. If at hand are not at the time, then the HR personality will keep you surrounded by mind when an opening become available. If a job is available, later give your Team Leader a head up so that they do not try to interfere, and they have time to find a replacement.

Let me explain the chain of command to you. ( This is mature stuff to those who have be in the military)
If you enjoy a problem, request, or a question, you be in motion to your most immediate supervisor, who go to his, and on up the line. you never stir over their head or around them , unless they transmit you to.
Outside the military, this may not be so formal, but it still applies.
Talk to your team head, and ask if you could talk to someone within HR. The leader might back you, or at least put in the picture you exactly who to see.

The place where on earth I lasted worked have a process you must follow when applying for a transfer. 1st, you must complete a verbs form, have your current supervisor sign it afterwards submit to the place of transfer to review. This route, your supervisor is aware of your interest in departure the department and can prepare should you end up transfering out. Also, the spanking new department will most likely contact your current supervisor to verbalize about what type of worker and soul you are. Always try to be open and honest. I would also approach the HR administrator to let him/her know that you are truely interested and rather, volunteer a few hours a week in the HR department to see if you even similar to it.
I worked in HR for 5 years and found that it be not the place for me. You really have to enjoy a thick skin to work within that department. I now train special ed. A much better fit.

Answers: I'm a registered nurse. I love my job... I work contained by an inner-city trauma center and there's never a dull moment. I work three days a week (12 hour shifts) and unlike a corporate job, when I budge home, I leave everything next to me. There's no staying late, or I'm not stuck "working on a project" close to a businessman would do.
The best part in the order of nursing is the number of areas I can go work surrounded by (public health, mental robustness, research, critical care, pediatrics, etc...) and it give me the chance to rejuvenate my work if I ever feel it requests it, while still working as a nurse.
I've been a nurse for around 5 years and I make 130K a year (115K if you don't include the little bit of overtime I tend to do). Granted, nurses contained by the part of the country where on earth I work tend to be the highest salaried in the country, but it's still worth it.
Hope this help!! Oh, and with the nursing shortage expected to get hold of worse (the average nurse is about ten years away from retirement) the constraint (and thus the pay) will only increase...
Look within to Physician Assistant, Today doctors are so boggled down with insurance and regulation suites that it isn't as very lucrative as a few years ago, or as prestigious. A physician assistant does and know everything and the amount of time for school is individual 2 years over a bachelors degree. Check it out.
The income is great too! like starting around 60 K and some probably spawn up to 130 k

Respiratory! It's just as contained by need as nursing and it's more specialized. I LOVE my brief. School was pretty provoking but it's awesome. You get to walk to codes, do CPR on a dailey basis and the complete clinical staff depends on you. I love the fast-paced part of the mission and being appreciated by RNs, Drs, and patients. Good luck!
