Is there anyone currently within this profession that could share the pros and cons?Answers: I've been a hygienist for a exceptionally long time. It is a great career. Only down side is that here is no advancement if you are in privite practice. It is a great undertaking because there are usually no night, weekends or holidays! My patients are fantastic!
Salary is usually VERY GOOD for hygienist. Benefits vary by dentist. It is an straightforward career to work full-time or leisure. Presently, I work part-time(my choice) for 2 different practices. I would strongly recommend this job.

I want to do something outside engineering.Answers: Have you considered switching to biomedical engineering? There isn't much in the agency of health-care w/o certification. Jobs above 10/hr require a scope in the pasture. You have someone's go in your hand!!
