My husband has individual worked for his current employer for 3 months, and it is clearly not working out for any of them. 2 weeks is expected and he should try to set aside that. The new employer should expect a judicious amount of notice. 1 week is okay, but best not to burn bridges. Realize though that if his employer isn't glowing with him any, once he gives catch sight of they may decide to end him earlier a bit than spend more time or effort on him.
