Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Do u think that to be a lawyer you really need 7 years or can it be less time?

Answers: Ordinarily it takes 7 years, but there are exceptional students that can do it in less time. You would have to give up some summers. It's really not worth the rush because there's no hurry to get into the job market at this time. Economic forecasters are predicting our economy to tank within the next few years.
No, it won' t be less. To become a lawyer, you have to get an undergraduate degree first. That takes about 4ish years. Then, you have to go to law school, and that will take about 3 years. In total, you are looking at about 7 years to become a lawyer. The 7years goes by very quickly, though. Before you know it, you will be done with your undergraduate degree, and you may find yourself getting very excited about starting law school. If you aren't interested in doing that much schooling, though, you could always look into paralegal jobs.

Good Luck!!
If you go one more year you can be a dentst. Dentsts are making more than general practice doctors. Dentists do not have to go through residency and have really mild work week in comparison to MDs. The lawyer degree is becoming less and less useful. The US needs more lawyers like it needs more Herpes. Lawyer salaries and opportunities keep going down except for a small minority of students with high grades.
You would have to be retarded to pursue the law if you knew how crappy the job market is for the average lawyer compared to a similarly educated healthcare professional. If you are going to invest in education, have a good quality of life, be well paid, and have stable employment go into healthcare, pharmacists, dentists, and doctors all make more than most attorneys.
Law Sucks it is a scam.
I did it in 6 - 3 years to complete a BA, 3 years for JD.

I'm glad another attorney out there is pushing for more dentists and less attorneys!
I went to law school with two women who graduated college at 17 and law school at 20. They both finished at the top of our class. Both were super bright, but neither was very nice, and both were immature with dubious social skills. One of them had been engaged 3 times before we graduated. One is now a deputy U.S. Attorney, and the other is a partner in a big law firm -- both very successful.

What does this mean? Yes, you can do it in less than 7 years, but would you want to? How NOT FUN would it be to blaze through the best years of your life just to finish school quickly? And if given a choice, what kind of client wants to hire a lawyer who is barely old enough to drink a beer legally and can't rent a car most places?

Teacher or Model?

Yes I know those are two completely different things--HOWEVER--both of them are things I love to do. And since I'm 24 I need to know what I'm going to be doing. I used to model for years, and they did not want me to go, but I had to for a bunch of little reason. Now my question is this--are models or teacher better off? I truly want to start a school, but would initiate there also.

Answers: you could never be a mentor thanks for the scrounging comment about my frineds i have a sneaking suspicion that they look fine. why do you have to be some niggardly your prob just bitter cuz you look awful . so no to model to of late go to bed or something
powerfully at 24 no offense but there's a little accident to make a big trade in modeling! usually models startt at 13-14!
i suggest culture!
but hey it's never too late to try out , travel on America's next top-model
Teaching will donate you a reliable income with a retirement and summers sour. The teachers I know find it rewarding.

Your own academy, may or may not make more money, may or may not allow you to retire at a not bad age. It may offer a greater level of personal reward. Owning and managing your business might create you hate it.

One is not detrimental - the other involves risk. You will have to opt.
teaching sounds better
u can spawn such a difference in childrens lifes
and when they look support they can thank you for it !
and teaching is more reliable!conceivably u shoud pray about it !

Job References HELP?

My application for a field sale job is asking for 2 reference other than relatives or previous employer? (who are they asking for in this)??
No where on earth on this Application does it ask for the traditional 2 references from previous employer?

Who can distribute this type of reference and what is the company looking for surrounded by this type of unorthodox references??

PLEASE HELP... I requirement to submit this AP within a few hours...

Answers: Perhaps one aim not to list previous employer is they figure (often correctly) that previous employer will only offer title, what you made, and your employment dates, as that's slightly common today, as they're afraid of lawsuits. I've had several former employers where on earth that is their policy.

Don't document anyone that could tie you down to a specific group that may lead towards any possibility of nouns, such as religious affiliation, etc. because that can also be problematic.

Choose someone that you know (and be darn sure you get their express authorization, and later maybe you should try and have someone else they don't know, bid them up and ask for a reference to find out EXACTLY what they articulate about you) that will donate you a good quotation, preferably someone you've worked with somehow, formal employment or not.
They could be asking for, approaching with mortgages and loans, a mention off a ridge, doctor, teacher, priest, etc.

Make sure you enjoy read it properly as it does seem strange they are not asking for previous employer...i work for a recruitment company and this is not the norm!
Strange. Maybe they're asking for guise references. Typical examples might be teacher, minister/priest/etc., school friends, someone from any place you volunteer.

I'd suggest double-checking that they really don't want anything from a previous employer. That seem weird. Maybe they made a typo.
Pick two of your friends that are well-employed and put them down, next to titles, and contact info. If your best friend is the Director of Marketing at his XYZ Company, put him down. If your other friend is the Executive Assistant to the Vice President, put her down. If they ask how you know them, they are "personal acquaintances". I would totally avoid priests, pastors, not everyone does volunteer work, etc.
