We lost 2 switch employees because they get upset with respectively other and couldn't face respectively other at work.
Lover or not, it is always unprofessional for two supervisors to be arguing within front of their employees. It make you both look bad and sparks work-place prattler. This leads to force taking sides and takes away from member of staff unity.
If you are going to reward your crew for great work (which is what a correct supervisor does), let the other supervisors know so that they can also hold an opportunity to plan a celebration and include their crews as well.
No one like to miss out on pizza...
I agree with Joe. If you are a supervisor, it is not professional to argue within front of employees. It take two to argue, so you could have walk away. That way, you would enjoy looked good.
Perhaps you could arrange to touch your girlfriend outside for a coffee later to discuss this and to agree not to tolerate things get out of mitt again. Emotions are taking over logic.

Is owning a restaurant a tough job?
Answers: I owned a small 25 hour cafe for about 3 years until I lost my lease. It was definately a full time job and then some. If you want to make money and care about your business, devoting all your energy is required. From personnel problems to getting the best prices for food are all issues. The profit margin is not huge but depending on the size of the restaurant and the amount of business you do, you can make a good living. Mine grossed about $250,000 a year but the overhead was also high between payroll, taxes, food costs, utilities (very high) and misc expenses, I pocketed about 50K a year. My advice is to do as much research on the place as you can, find out current sales and expenditures. Find out if the place already has contracts with suppliers, Sysco, US Food Service etc... Most of all, decide if want to devote most of your spare time because you are always on call for everything. Even if its only open from 8 til 5 thats still a full time job. Essentially, the answer is simply: Owning a Restaurant is like any other business, its only as tough as you make it. It takes work to get success.
If you are owning AND managing your own restaurant, it's not a tough job -- it's a tough life!
But from the friends I know who are doing just that, it's also the most fulfilling.
No tougher than any real job.
And the biggest bonus is you get to work while everyone else is eating so you can get out of all those pesky social engagements.
Yes it is because it is one of the top businesses' that have such a high percentage of failure within their first year of opening.

I was wondering if anybody might enjoy some feedback about the possibility of someone at 43 starting a trade in pattern design from scratch, i.e, going to university, training etc.Thank you for any responses.

Answers: Of course it is possible to start a career at that age thats not really a factor. The more defining part is self able to find work as a network designer. For the most part i believe that most trellis design work freelance so making a steady income might be kindof hard.
I meditate web design would dribble more under a art academy more then a 4 year college so you might try looking in attendance. But i know many community colleges grant web design courses, you could also consider research photoshop and java.
If you want to get the gears rolling contained by a web design see, go for optical communications and take their trellis design courses. As the other person said, it is not really an IT duty nowadays beside all of the optical editors and such. Learn photoshop and Flash and you will be on the right path.
