My son's girlfriend calls stale work every time we have classic Pennsylvania winter weather. Her mother have told her that it is unlawful for an employer to fire her for calling in when roads are impossible. She is under the dent that she would be able to sue her employer for endanger her life. (wa?) I am not discussion about state of emergency when the governer tells race to stay home but normal tricky winter weather. She works at a mound as a part time member of staff. I cannot convince her that they are well inside thier rights to fire her if she keeps this up. What do you deduce?Answers: The bank would be inside it's rights to fire her, she is not protected by law for doing this. She desires to keep surrounded by mind that if the roads are bad and race are told to stay home then hopefully her dune would be closed. But if she continues to do this they certainly can permit her go. Pennsylvania is an at-will state and the employer can agree to her go near or with out perceive. The only armour she could raise within a lawsuit would be for wrongful termination against the employer. To prove this she would need to show that she be fired for an illegal drive (Race, religion, marital status, etc). If the sandbank could show that other employees be able to soundly travel to work on those days her case would never fashion it to court.

An employer can easily fire a worker who habitually call in near excuses to stay home. The employer is allowed to expect to be able to run his business surrounded by a stable manner, and never knowing whether your team will be in does not allow that.
It's dejected that in this time and age there is such a dearth of understanding among frequent young relatives about what is expected of them surrounded by life. They set out school thinking they can own it all hand to them, without have to work for it.

Here in Ohio, the standard sitpulations apply - high school diploma, good physical shape, no run-ins with the law, decent credit, clean background check (both personally and professionally), favorable references, health screening, written test, etc.
