Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Lying surrounded by a employment interview?

i applied for wet stamp (a clothing store) and im 16. i got call in for an interview for tomorrow. But for a time while ago i called the store to ask them how feeble do you have to be to work within and they said 18. And on the job application it asked if you be on 16 and i checked yes. Do i lie surrounded by the interview and tell them im 18 or do i of late say im 16? I really entail a job though.

Answers: You will be asked for your drivers license upon hire. They pilfer a photocopy of it to put in your personnel database, along with a copy of your social warranty card.

Most businesses have insurance restrictions and other things that product it difficult for them to hire adolescents.

If you decide to be in motion to the interview anyway, be sure to tell them right away that you are 16, because they will not be bright and breezy you caused them to squander their time.

If you decide NOT to step... call them so they hold time to schedule someone else.

That route they will perhaps remember that you be curtious, responsible, and acted like an full-size.
There's no point in lieing, but if you relate the truth about individual sixteen you might get a mission doing something else...

I wouldn't work for Wet Seal though, they do experiments on rabbits... It's sick.
do not lie and merely be your self
if u dont get hired specifically ok and find another job every article will be fine.
and if you do get the chore they will find out sooner or later. GOOD LUCK!
I read between the lines that you're 16 and the job requires that you be 18. But integrity is a intermittent commodity and employers know it. If you start compromising your own integrity, no event how justified it might be, employer will question the rest of it, rightly or wrongly. Don't start falling into a trap of your own creation.

Age is going to be one of the easiest things to shut in you on. So you did answer truthfully on the app, and they called you anyway. Either they realize it and it's okay, or they missed it. But they won't miss it if you're untruthful near them.
No. There is no way you can carry away with a not tell the truth about your age, and it will benefit you contained by the future to breed a habit of truth on duty applications. Don't get a black spot so early within your life -- culture who hire talk.

Tell them you are 16, become fully grown for your age, school work is fine, your parents support your working, and you applied at that store because you really similar to it and want to be associated with it. If they articulate "no," tell them gratefulness anyway and you will be back. If you do return, they will remember you, and that will work within your favor.

Remember that is not the individual store. Have a positive - and honest - attitude, and you will be working soon. Good luck!
Tell the truth, for a number of reason:

1) you must show proof of your ability to justifiably work in the US (driver's licence, ss card, or similar.)
2) masses employers run situation checks these days to weed out the liars
3) the employer is subject to labor tenet, including those that pertain to minors. lying can get them into trouble as very well as you.

Wow them in the interview and they may have a propensity to hire you anyway, and to accommodate the hours to which you are limited as a minor. Good luck!
They do check your environment. After they hire you they will need a copy of your driver's license and social payment card, and with that information they will realize you're 16 and fire you. You can also take in closely of trouble for that. Tell them your age, and if you can't work there apply somewhere else. A lot of places close to Bed Bath & Beyond, Publix, and Dairy Queen hire if you're 16.
