Then contact the school you're interested surrounded by and find out their specific program information. Usually, the programs are between 18 months and 2 years long. Some programs require a background within radiology before entering a DMS program, but not adjectives require it. The program I will be in is an 18 month long associate's scope that only requires trustworthy pre-occupational courses.
Some programs are very competitive and may hold long waiting lists. For example, at my academy, students applying now for the DMS program may not bring back in until 2010. This will swing by school, so newly ask someone in the Sonography department how long the waiting roll is.

Some colleges have the full time 2 year programs. This is be you're either at the hospital or surrounded by a class for 40 hours a week. This programs they're usually against you working because of the time that it takes up. The starting income is between 21 and 22 per hour right now. Contact your local college and ask for info on their Sonography program.
