What is the rule for donation when contract staff is sent home by Company on its own.?
I am a contract employee on payroll of a recruit agent and physically located and working for a Company (on behalf of the agent). During the recent snow storm, I and my colleagues (similar status) were sent home by the Company (not our employer) after just about 4 hours of work. Remember, the Company decided to convey all its personnel including us and we were not given to choose the route to stay or go. Now we are single paid for 4 hours of work for that year. We were here for a full 8 hour work day consequently why we have to take on the loss of 4 hours? What is the HR law and our right surrounded by this regard?Thanks
Answers: What state? Many states will read aloud that you are entitled to the hours you worked (4 hours) and the temporary employment agency will usually say-so there is a 4-hour minimum per daylight.
Without knowing the state you work in, we can't describe you the law.
First, you hold the boss messed up. Yes, your paychecks come from the recruiting agency, but form no mistake about who your boss is and who in truth pays your payroll. The company you physically work at is your boss.
When your boss sent you home, you should have call the agency and told them that you had be sent home.
You decided to not listen to your boss and presently think that you can somehow hold them hostage to wage you wages that they did not authorize.
As an employer, once I tell workers they are off the clock, they are officially off the clock. If they choose to stay, I don't repay them, nor do I have to.
So, you are deportment the loss because the Company will not pay the agency for those extra 4 hours. You chose to stay and you chose to stay unpaid.
Depending on how long you own been on payroll for the agency and how much the agency (and the Company for that matter) attraction you as an employee, is how much leverage you enjoy.
Try talking to your recruiter, but I would bet you are only just talking into the interweave.

The law is if you show up for work the company must settle up you 4 hours. That's why most companies will make sure you work those four hours earlier they send you home surrounded by a snow storm. The company only have to pay you four hours.
1 minute - 4 hours company must income you four hours.
If you are hourly, they can send you home and not salary you.
BUT if you are hourly, you aren't legally contract staff.
