Answers: Did you sign a contract? If yes, later check for the notification period. Otherwise, it's custom to tender 2 weeks' notice surrounded by the US. Give more if you have firm plans, and your official will appreciate it.
Your manager may try to converse you into staying, but it's your choice and you can't be forced to stay (for any reason that I can ponder of). Ultimately, I think that he or she will be terrifically understanding, as college start date are firm.
Good luck!
Once you are sure about shifting colleges (acceptance letter contained by hand), be sure to give 2 weeks make out. No one can force you to stay. Just write a nice resignation letter proverb you enjoyed working at the errand but you will be transferring to a new college out of state.

My inspector at work is moving to another store and she told me ...?
that I might want to consider moving to a new department up to that time the new inspector starts because our personalities would clash. So this have caused comparatively a dilemma for me, should I move to a different department immediately even though I really love working surrounded by the department I work in (it is the deli) or should I linger and see how the new regulator acts and pinch the risk of saying or doing something that could cost me my career? If I move to another department I will own to work my way put a bet on up the ladder from the emergence again.Answers: Think of the old song - It's not what you speak, it's the way that you read aloud it.'
