Going for pre-employment assessments. Can anyone recommend any sites that I can use to brush up on my Maths?
I have be invited to an assment day for a distinguished train company in the south of england. It's for a governmental position and I really want this job!I know I will be facing a Literacy and numeracy testing alongside an interview. I am very concerned in the region of the numeracy test as Maths have never been my strong point. I do enjoy Maths GCSE. I also got a First surrounded by my statistics module at Uni and Use maths everyday in my current position. But I am outstandingly nervous as I own no idea what charitable of things to revise or brush up on and I ALWAYS freeze during maths exams. I did well on my uni course as statistics be coursework-based and I spent alot of time interpreting my answers.
When presented with a Maths broadsheet my brain just does not want to know - make a contribution me the problem in a "valid life" setting and I will do just fine.
Can anyone reccommend any (free) sites where on earth I can practice and re-learn the appropriate maths skills?
Answers: Not for free, but if you go to your local bookstore and look for GMAT books they'll probably give support to you. (GMAT is a general government exam which covers lots of management style maths). You should be capable of get one for more or less ten pounds, unless you're really strapped for cash it'd probably be a worthwhile investment if it help you get the situation.
I'm sorry, i cant, but i'd say freshly to go for it. I lately went for an interview & to my great surprise they give me a calculator, hehe.
Seriously, i'm usless at maths & i just go & had a stir, i used the margins to work things out, but so unsure of my answers i didnt fill them surrounded by. When they then give me the interview, they told me i'd got the answers right & if id' have the confidence to fill them contained by, i'd have passed.
So i read aloud "Go for it hon, & good luck".

I think you hold to pay but because I'm within a school I attain a free account payed by teacher.
You login and there are thousands of programme, and when you choose one it guides you through each step next to narration and kind of draws out respectively stage.
Maths isn't my strong point either, but when I jump on there I recognize things better than I do at high institution.

I need to write a cover memorandum for an important opening application. Info just about Employment Relocation, UK?
Hi everyone.I am recently out of uni and specialise surrounded by a specific subject. I moved from Edinburgh to Liverpool to go to uni and later i returned home (mostly because of money.. and returning home after uni is what people tend to do).
However, i distinguish the difference between the cities in vocabulary of jobs. IE: Once a month up here at hand is 2 jobs i would delight in but almost weekly in Liverpool nearby is one or two posted.
I cannot afford to pay for a place deposit, rent, and moving as economically as living for a month without wages if successful.
Have you relocated? Why would an employer pay relocation cost when he could utilize more local? Is it quite a adjectives thing?
If you hold any advice for me, psyche be most grateful if you could voice it here.

Answers: I have two answers to your give somebody the third degree. First of all, my own personal experience: I relocated to London simply over four years ago, because in my home town in attendance were few employment opportunity in the nouns in which I specialised, and I know there'd be more in London. You're correct, it is fundamentally expensive as you need to find living costs for the time that you're out of work and you want a deposit and so on. BUT if you're determined to make it work approaching I was, at hand are ways of doing it. You can max out your credit card and then money it off when you find a job. You can find an evening duty (say, in a bar) which will provide you beside some living costs and still give you daytimes free to prod for a job and attend interviews. Since you go to uni in Liverpool, do you own friends there that you could stay next to until you can afford to get your own place? The bottom vein is, yes it will be a struggle and I know because I've done it myself, but if you want to do it then you can manufacture it work.
However, I do think within your case that it's probably not as difficult as you get it sound. I moved to London from the other side of the world. But Edinburgh and Liverpool aren't that far apart. Since you utter there are a couple of job per week advertised that you would similar to to do, you should apply to those jobs. If you are invited to interview, explain to them that you currently live surrounded by Edinburgh but plan to relocate, and ask if they could be flexible with regard to interview dates/times, and then try to calendar a couple of interviews for the same daytime and travel there. If they're not predisposed to be flexible, then suggest that you own a telephone interview within the first instance for both of you to judge whether it would be worth you travelling.
Now, my second answer comes from an employer's perspective. I'm an internal recruiter next to a large multinational corporation. The bottom string is, an employer is not going to pay relocation costs for a graduate. Employers recompense relocation costs only when in attendance is no-one within the local nouns with the skillset and experience to do the brief so they need to bring back someone to move there. You might own had a massively good instruction, but as a recent graduate you don't have a skillset to be precise specialist enough to warrant any employer moving you. For example, I own recently be recruiting for a Program Manager for our portal contained by Belgium, but companies who are our main competitors don't hold a presence in Belgium aim that there wasn't anyone in attendance with the skillset that we needed, and consequently we were going to consider relocating someone from France or the Netherlands where on earth there be people next to the right skills.
The only other time an employer would repay relocation costs is if you were already employed by that company and they needed you to work within a different location.
