Can Boss Demand My Own Time?
Hi, I am based at home, and travel to client sites to do my errand. I am also on a rota to do helpdesk work at the office (closest is at smallest 2.5 hrs away so I stay the whole week).I be on holiday 23rd Jan-7th Feb and while away they emailed to ask me to cover the helpdesk w/c 11th - just 3 days after I get back. They know I was moving house that week, I have planned to do all the work within the evenings, so i thought they must be ok me doing it from home.
Except that they have be very demanding that I do it from the department which means I couldn't move house - they speak that because my job is never 9-5 (which I know) that I am individual unreasonable expecting to be home to move - But it is my time in the evenings, they know I was moving and also I can do it from home.
Where do I stand? Can they communicate me to change my work location at such short see? If it were a few weeks I wouldnt mind - but 3 days is silly - no time to adjustment plans at all... Thanks
