I would check "yes". It is never right to lie on an application because it will come hindmost bite you when you least expect it ("you" consequence the applicant). The employer will immediately reject the application that is to say not truthful. Why should he/she hire a liar? If the applicant is honest and explains that he/she have lived an honest and positive life and scholarly their lesson, that will show the interviewer the applicant is a changed person.
A correct background check will show any convictions.

GO and verbs a background check yourself. I have a relative who was charged near murder about 15 years ago... and be recently released du to lock away overcrowding... it did NOT show up on a background check (slipped thru the cracks I guess) during the transition to 'modern' computers.

I checked no for any convictions but failed to realize that I be convicted of failing to get my car's inspection sticker updated. i did not see what the big treaty was at the time. I did not leave behind the smog test so I rewarded a fine and that was that.all right the potential employer did not agree and I DID NOT GET THE JOB.
My thought was that they designed CRIMINAL convictions but they were considerate enough to point out that they heaps ANY convictions
