Careers Employment Questions and Answers

Good chore for 17 year weak?

So I'm looking for a new living. Right now I'm employed at a YMCA as a lifeguard and swim instructor. Yes, yes, it's a accurate job--but it's exponentially boring. We guards don't do much else besides sit and watch the pool. Sometime we'll verbs. It's not very interesting.

I tried a bunch of restaurants (Olive Garden, Cracker Barrel, Red Lobster, etc.) and they ALL require you to be 18--which I'm 9 months away from. Starbucks, to my gigantic disappointment, was any not hiring or did not like me. I expect they're only just not hiring because I have like mad of work experience already for a 17 year old, and closely of experience working with empire. But I digress.

Anyway, does anyone have any suggestions? Should I apply to Starbucks again, or will that only be embarrassing? I will NOT work at Wal-Mart, McDonalds, or any other place approaching that. Thanks!

As a recruiter I can tell you that staying at one post for a long period of time looks pious for an applicant. Is food service really the way you want to jump? You have to ask yourself these question. Also, what is your current situation? Single, living at home, have time to pursue arts school and work pt? Or do you really need to take home some money so that you turn 18 you have to move out? If you can answer these question I can assist you more.

Is Dental Hygiene a good career?

Answers: if it makes you happy, then it's a GREAT career!
Well, sure!

It pays well. You would work in a safe, clean environment. You will be treated with respect by the patients and, hopefully, the dentists.

I think you can also get a nice pension set up as well.
