I'm 25 years old and own 2 children graduated High School but did not stir to college I have have 2 steady jobs inside the last 8 years. I am thought as though I need to run futher with my job. Promotion Opportunity?
I'm now working as a Supervisor making $49K. My supervisor, (her title is Coordinator), is departing in a few weeks and I'm thinking around applying for her position. She told me that this will be a great opportunity for me. However, I'm not sure how I should proceed to apply for her position since she's still working here. I'm confident that I can handle her livelihood since we share a lot of responsibilities together. The Director did not ask me if I'm interested surrounded by applying. Would it be awkward if I apply but do not get standard since I'm still working in impossible to tell apart department?Also, I'm not sure what that position is getting paid. Salary is not the biggest article I'm concerned but I just want to spawn sure I'm not underpaid being that I'm promoted in the same department. What is the regular percentage of take-home pay increase for a promotion? How much should I ask and how can I negotiate that? Thanks.
Answers: If you think you would similar to your current supervisor's job, by adjectives means you should apply for it (assuming the duty has be posted).
