Emt? paramedic?firefighter?paramedic/firefighter..income?

can anyone give me info on the salarys of these job...thank you

Answers: We don't do our jobs for the money. We do it because we're a bunch of bitter adrenaline-junkies. :)

Seriously though - all of these professions tend to be underpaid. If you return with on with the right squads you might acquire a nice benefits and pension bundle though. Some firemen do quite okay for themselves, but that's a really tough job.

The most any of us EMTs create here in NJ is almost $15 per hour with benefits. This might nouns good to a younger single human being, but when you add kids, a mortgage and a crippling addiction to Target contained by to the mix, it isn't much.

I have no thought what 'medics make here, but I capture the impression that it isn't too much any. I'm getting ready to walk to nursing school - there's like mad you can do with that level. I don't plan on stopping until I've acheived at least a Master's.

Your best bet is to see if you can do a few ride-alongs near your local EMS and/or fire squads - that way you can see if this is something you really want to apply yourself to.

Best of luck to you!
it depends widely on where you are surrounded by the country. the firefighters where I live tend to start at around 90-94k/year, but the firefighters within surrounding cities I think engender a lot smaller quantity. Paramedics make conceivably half that.

Of those three professions, EMT's are the lowest salaried, no matter where on earth you go surrounded by the country (it's the easiest certification to catch, and they have the fewest responsibilities contained by the field) followed by paramedics and then firefighters. Depending on where on earth you are, if you're a firefighter, they might also require you to have your paramedic liscense (and I muse then you might catch paid rather more)

Hope this helps!

What are the requirements for becoming an air traffic controller??

Answers: Thats a pretty broad question! I'll do my best.

You'll have to be able to speak and understand the English language without impediment, have normal color vision 20/20 un or corrected vision and other things listed here http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunitie...

Also, there is a list of drugs that controllers cannot take (sorry I can't find an internet copy) while working. You'll have to pass in addition to the physical, a phych exam and a security clearance. The minimum work experience is a high school diploma and 3 years of work or full time college experience.

To get hired you have three options. Apply off the street. Go here https://jobs01.faa.gov/asap/default.ASP?...

to set up an account. And apply for postings here...http://jobs.faa.gov/announcement_summary...

Keep applying for jobs and you might get selected to take the enterance exam called the AT-SAT. Pass it and you'll possibly get an offer from a facility. You'll interview for the position then if accepted you'll go through a paperwork process than can last several months before you get your training slot at the FAA academy.

You can also attend a CTI (collegiate training initiative) school which are listed here www.atccti.com Upon graduation you'll go right to the paperwork stage of the hiring process.

You can also join the military do ATC there and upon leaving join the FAA as an ex military controller.

Lastly to the above poster...If you go to Indy center (or any ARTCC) you've got a snowballs chance in Arizona of transfering to a tower. Also, the places they need people the most are the lowest staffed (thus the whole, hey apply to where few peple are applying and you'll likely get the job) If you're in a low staff facility that really needs people, do you actually think they'll let a CPC transfer?
Someone sent this to me, so i thought i'd pass the word along. Check this out:

AirTraffic Opportunities(Great opportunity for those age 18-31)
If you have or know kids between the ages of 18-31 with a high school diploma. The Federal Aviation Association is taking applications for air traffic controller school. We all have kids and know kids in the right age group
(under 31) and with some effort they could reach a salary of over $100,000 with benefits in about 3 years.
You need only a high school diploma to apply and credit is given for College on the exam. They need to go to faa.gov
http://www.faa.gov/jobs/job_opportunitie...
for details and to fill out the application immediately - even if they don't know if they'd want to attend immediately - it's the federal government and it may take them months to call. The key is to apply NOW. There will be a
lot of retirements coming up rather quickly and they need to line up training to accommodate these openings. It's my understanding that the FAA rarely has an open application such as this and that the jobs are coveted. This is a
great opportunity and it should be noted that choosing a site like Anchorage or Indianapolis to train is a likely acceptance into the training program - after-which you can transfer anywhere in the country that has a tower. I hope you pass this information on to family, friends, etc.
