I've applied to a possition I really want online. I know from someone inside the company what the salary variety is that they offer you. However, I'm applying as a clean college grad. I don't want to say I'm expecting the lowest amount they will walk, but I'm afraid if I put a number too high they won't respond to me. Is it wrong to of late write "negotiable" or "prefer not to answer at this time"?Answers: negotiable or accessible is a great answer.

How much do you think you are worth to the company as a recent grad? How general is the range that your friend have told you? If your friend said the range is 50 to 60 (ie probably narrow, ask for the 60 and negotiate if needed. If your friend say the range is from 50 to 80...ask for somewhere within the middle.
Absolutely preferrable to write "negotiable". You don't want to do anything to keep you from human being considered and interviewed.
I sat through dozens of interviews contained by the past few weeks and one that sticks out outstandingly bad is where on earth an applicant began to discuss income. This was the first stage of interviews and one or two more rounds be to follow. Only towards the culmination of the process should salary be discussed. Never on an application.
