Careers Employment Questions and Answers

What is the difference between a certified nursing assistant and a medical assistant (back office)?

Answers: A CNA, is one whom attends a course, and is certified to work in Nursing Homes, most require this, they teach you how to transfer patients, perform ADL's which are activities of daily living, including feeding them, and personal care. Most make about 9-10.00 an hour. Medical asst's usually go through a private program and do various things depending on training, go for the CNA in great demand, and many places will pay for you LVN, or LPN school Good Luck...
CNA's do all the dirty work and get paid less while MA's get respect and have higher pay. Although CNA's are more in demand than MA's

Can a 16 year old work at a doctors office or anything simple in the medical field?

Answers: Yes they can.. 16 year olds are mostly going to be hired for medical records. They will take phone messages from the receptionists, pull the charts and take them to the appropriate area. This also applies to numerous faxes the office receives each day. Sometimes the chart is difficult to find because the chart may be on another doctor's desk if he was on call the day the patient needed to be seen. They will also make copies for other offices, prep charts, archive charts, and put the doctor's typed dictation in the charts too. You'll be on your feet constantly and will be busy the whole time you're working. In the office I worked at, starting pay was $8.50 an hour when I left two years ago.
Nothing is simple in the medical field...
