what i mean do rad techs own to get special training for ct scan and mri or will i learn that during my clinical studies .Answers: RTs do more than in recent times x-rays of bones. We do fluoroscopy studies (involving the intestinal tract and barium), arthrograms (assisting the radiologist with injecting contrast or dye into joint for evaluation) and myelograms (assisting the radiologist with injecting contrast into the spinal canal). If you work within a hospital setting, you will do portable exams in ICU, CCU, the ER and even surgery. Some RTs rob x-rays in the morgue.
Most RTs will also become proficient and licensed surrounded by other modalities, such as mammography, angiography, CT and/or MRI. These are skills that you can learn on the position, if your employer is willing to cross-train you. A year after ratification the ARRT, you can take examinations to earn other licenses. The more license you have, the more money you can net, as you will be in high demand. With further schooling, you can also do ultrasound.
The RT program I went to have students do a 4 week rotation through CT, MRI, mammography, angiography, Cardiac Cath Lab, Nuclear Medicine and Radiation Therapy. That was not nearly satisfactory time to become proficient at these modalities. I think it be used as an opportunity for us to see what the other modalities are about. It be kind of for in recent times general ease. I got my ARRT and go to work for a free standing imaging facility. There I was cross trained within CT, MRI, DEXA and mammography. I did not do any additional formal schooling, but I have to find books to buy so I could study for and pass my license examinations. Best wishes.

Advantages of being unwaged while you look for a job:

Answers: It's always easier to achieve a job when you own one because there is a perceived attitude that employer have that states you are more desirable, hence you are surrounded by a stronger bargaining position. Of course if you despise your job, it have an effect on your mental attitude that may make you come across poorly contained by an interview. I guess the final decision is whether or not you can afford to quit. If you can do so, afterwards take the leap, be paid getting a job your full time position, and go for it.
It is fine if you own enough nest egg to get by on as when already surrounded by a job you dislike you tend not to look for a foreign job as busy and months on you are still stuck in the assignment you hate.
The other downside to some though would be if the nest egg where soon running out and rushing surrounded by to take the first errand offer that come your way and may come to an end up once again in a commission that you hate.
Sometimes it's a virtuous idea to quit a gruesome job even when you don't enjoy a new work. I always read aloud that if you are made miserable in the place you work, your mental vigour is more important than money. The certainty that you are ultimately unemployed is an excellent motivator to find alternative work. It works better if you are a single character with no dependents.
