Can my employer change the day i am being paid?i have been there 5 years also should i be given any notice?
Answers: Yes they can and should give you at least one months notice so that you can rearrange any direct debits etc.
In circumstances where they may go from weekly to monthly pay they should also give you the opportunity of a sub, repayable over an agreed period, to give you chance to adjust.
course they can. They should give you notice though many don't.
You could calmly explain that this has caused you financial problems as direct debits have bounced and hopefully they'll repay them, or at least warn you in future.
For now you're just going to have to rearrange your bills.
Research your local labour laws by contacting your local government representative or checking our your province/state's or federal government's website. Labour laws change from area to area so that will be your best bet.
But i don't think they have to give you notice and i'm pretty sure they can change it when they want. It's most likely a financial issue on their end (ie; it's too costly to do it the old way)
yes unless u have written contract covering this area.
as for 'notice', u should have enough saved to cover the change up. it isn't a long time between pay checks.
Yes it would have been pleasant to be given notice.your employer is a insensitive jerk...
Be he can do what he wants...non-union.as long as its reasonable.
You can always look for another job.
He is allowed to ultimately do this, but it depends what it says in your contract. If your contract specifies your payday, then if he wishes to change it then he must give you at least your contractual notice. This is the time specified in your contract, or one week for each year you have worked there, if higher.
What will my employer ask me for?
Moving to UK soon, holding British Nationality by descent but never been within UK before so I own no NI number or any other documents rather than my British passport! What documents will my employer ask me for?
I'm not chitchat about a resume or such piece..
For example he/she'll need my mound account number, anything else?
By the channel what do I need to undo a bank side? lol
Answers: They will want your passport as proof of your eligibility to work in the UK.
They will read that you won't have an NI number as you enjoy to be working (or can prove that you are looking for work) before you can bring one. However you will need to apply ASAP and afterwards provide your employer with proof that you hold applied when you can. (In the meantime, your employer will issue you with a interim NI number and you will be stopped tax at emergency rate.)
To get hold of a bank statement, you typically need your passport plus two forms of proof of address. Typically a mobile phone bill will not do; it collectively needs to be a rental agreement and/or utilities bills. This make it very difficult for foreigners to plain a bank story, so some employment agencies will provide you with a memo as a reference to nick along to their bank so that you can procure your own account in attendance (but the first time I id this, the mound still didn't accept it). If there's any method you can open a edge account here in the past you leave your own country, later definitely do this - HSBC enjoy many overseas branches or hold agreements with local bank to do it so it's worth enquiring in your local guard. It takes six weeks, but you may not know how to do it in six weeks when you seize here. If you don't have an details straight away, you can request that your employer pays you by cheque.
you will have to contact your local authorities and apply for a NI number, this is important.
a bank rationalization is also recommended, you will need your passport, two proof of address, its simple. you will be fine

You requirement to contact the Inland Revenue for a NI number. A lot of potential employers are asking for proof of the right to work these days. They ask for such thing as birth licence, passport, driving license, exam certificates, memorandum from the Department for Work and Pensions etc.
To open a mound account you inevitability basically impossible to tell apart forms of id along beside a tenancy agreement or utility bill, something which shows your current address.
Good luck, hope you topography your dream job! Whereabouts surrounded by the UK are you moving to?
