How can I fix my probability for an internship/job?
I'm a third year Political Science student at a major university contained by a metro area. Things are going capably for me now, but for the first year and a partially, I struggled terribly beside my classes. This was mostly due to my struggle with depression and G.A.D., which I carried beside me from high institution.Thankfully, I have be completely happy and nourishing for almost two years now. But, due to my early depression, my college GPA sank. Due to have a job, I can merely take so heaps classes at once. So, raising it rear up has be really slow and painful.
Now, I'm really interested within snagging a paid internship, but almost adjectives applications for them (and for scholarships as well) require my college transcript, or at the vastly least my current GPA. I'm afraid that potential employer will take one look at any of those and reject me instantly.
Is there anything I can do to give support to my chances, or to at most minuscule properly explain my situation without have employers believe I'm crazy? Thanks in mortgage.
Answers: I know a couple people who received internships by applying directly through the company site instead of through the co-op/internship bureau. Why did they do that?
1) Applying directly through the company site does not require you to submit a transcript.
2) You don't have to wages a fee to the co-op department for 'assisting you in locating a job' for you.. (even though you're doing adjectives the work yourself)
They applied for both contracts and 'student developmental' programs on the company site.
